SAIS Class 1 Fence System | Major Elements
Welded Mesh Fence
The weld mesh panel is very high performance security design, and its mesh size is 76.2 +3.2 mm x 12.7mm +1.60mm, in accordance with the ASTM F 2453. Both the vertical and horizontal wires have a 3mm diameter wire that is strong. The tensile strength of the panel is in accordance with ASTM A 641 which provides a strong performance of the panel. Its height is 2755.90mm and width 3055.60mm. Zinc coating is customized to the ASTM A641, Class-3 standards, and its finish is Dark Green RAL 6005, 350 microns.
Rectangular hollow section post
The post is a rectangular hollow section having 120mm x 60mm dimensions, and the minimum wall thickness of 2.75mm. The post is 3555mm in length (2805mm above the ground level with 750mm of the post submerged in the ground) to ensure it is safely installed. It is zinc coated according to ASTM A123 standards which gives it very high corrosion resistant properties. Also the post has 350-Micron thick thermoplastic coating of P 26 Green RAL 6005, which provides durability and long life in severe outdoor environment.
Barb Wire ASTM A121 Compliant
The barb wire in the HCIS fencing system is in line with the ASTM A121 standard, and the diameter of the wire is 2.00mm. Both line and barbed wires have tensile strength of 400 N/mm 2 which makes them resistant and durable. Its pitch is 125mm, and line is covered by 244 grams of zinc each meter and barbed wire by 214 grams each meter. It has 3 rows to ensure maximum security.
Concertina Razor Wire
SAIS also known as HCIS Class 1 has 3 rows of concertina razor wire to make it the most effective deterrent. The concertina razor wire is crafted out of stainless steel SS304, blade length is 30mm ( +/- 1mm) and the thickness is 0.50mm ( +/- 0.10mm). It will have a 600mm stretch and diameter before giving safe deterrence. The wire contains 55 loops on a coil and the spacing of the blades is 78mm with a minimum tensile strength of 1250 N/mm 2. It has a 259 GSM galvanized coating against corrosion.
Fittings
Type 2 employs a fully corrosion-resistant package of fittings to secure the panel-to-post connection and bear the uppermost security components. The post endings are waterproofed by using PVC post caps and profile cover plates (2.90 mm x 2756 mm) provide some form of tamper protection using 120 GSM of zinc and 350-micron TPC in RAL 6005. ASTM A123 J-hooks (40×40×4 mm, 550 mm) position barbed/razor wire correctly with the support of wall spikes (1.80 mm, 120 GSM + 350-micron RAL 6005) and ASTM C A123 J-hooks (8 mm rod, 400 mm) which have to fix them and ensure their durability.
Anti-Vehicle Barrier System
Wire Rope
The main component of the anti-vehicle system is the horizontal barrier element which is wire rope. It is mounted between the crash posts and operating as the primary tensioned line that helps to resist the vehicle intrusion as it accepts the impact forces and passes it to the post structure
Universal Crash Post
The structural members of the anti-vehicle barrier system are mainly the universal crash posts. They are also constructed to accept the vehicle impact load, absorb the impact and safely transfer it to the ground using the reinforced foundation, which ensures barrier stability during high load events.
Cable Locking Mechanism at Post
A cable locking mechanism is fitted on the crash post to fix the wire rope. It prevents slipping of the rope, tension in the rope line is kept under control and the barrier remains useful when there is vibration, pulling forces or sudden loading of the rope line during an impact
Wire Rope Clamp
The wire rope is attached, ended and adjusted at the points of connection and termination by wire rope clamps. They have a secure grip so that the rope can be tensioned to give the rope position, give the rope support and give the barrier line safe tightening or re-tightening on its installation and maintenance.
Foundation with Reinforcement
The universal crash posts have a reinforced foundation as their anchoring base. It makes the system more stable as it firmly held the posts and redistributed the forces of vehicle impact into the surrounding mass of the ground, which prevented post pull-out, rotation, or collapse under heavy load conditions.
